Pequot Heavy Cotton - Top Sheet - Double Bed
Pequot quality at its finest. Heavy cotton top sheet for a double bed. Torn size is 81" x 108" in very good condition. Top sheets were used in the past for both the bottom and the top. Fitted sheets did not come into fashion until later.
Crisp, clean heavy cotton Pequot Sheet - Pequot tag still attached states "Double Bed - 81" x 108" torn size". Beautiful clean finish and generous finished hem. In very good condition.
Hand embroidery makes this vintage homemade coverlet (light weight spread) so fantastically appealing! I believe it was made from a quality Pequot or similar type of sheet. Measures 82" x 100" not including fringe on three sides. This spread is in very good condition and the embroidery is just lovely. It does have a few minor condition issues: A couple tufts of fringe are missing from a one spot (measures approx. 1 1/2"); the decorative trim which holds the fringe is missing some threads in a few locations but one must look hard to see that there is anything amiss. The top of the sheet on the left side does not have trim for approx. 5" - I don't know the reason for this; however, it appears it never had trim and fringe along that 5" area. A couple of light marks near top edge. Priced accordingly. Still quite a wonderful piece. Light Weight.
